Well, currently, my website is on a .info TLD. I will be getting a .com for it real soon, but I got a question I'd like to ask. I want to make the .com TLD the main one for my website. I'll probably redirect my .info domain to my .com one. Because obviously .com is much professional then .info But only problem is, will Google ban my site or anything like that? Plus, my .info TLD currently is a PR5 plus Alexa is within the 100,000. Not forgetting the keywords my .info TLD has ranked for in Google. If I switch the .com and redirect my .info to .com will all my SERPs, PR, and Alexa have any effect? Or like is there a way to shift all my current SEO stats in my .info domain to my .com domain? Please help!
Redirecting the site is fine and people do it all the time without being banned etc etc What you will find is you will loose all rankings and PR to begin with no matter what. However, the rankings will come back it will just take a bit of time for G to update everything. The PR should be transfered the next time google updates the visual toolbar PR (but it will/can change regardless). The Alexa.. I keep saying it.. it's pointless seeing as you can easily fake the rankings. It's just a time thing when you 301 to a new domain, providing the new domain is not banned or been doing anything dodgy in the past it will be ok in X time (X as it's different for everyone).
Yes it will affect SERPs, PR, and Alexa but this is not for long time..whenever your domain gone cache you will get the same PR but for keywords ranking you have to promote your site on facebook, stumble, digg, twitter..
