From a professional point of view, is there a lot of difference (Other than price) on different Domain extensions? .com, .net, .info, .org, .me, .mobi, .us, .biz, are just a few of the Domain extensions I have found. Do they effect your SEO?
this is an age old arguement and i've seen many different ideas about which is better at the end of the day the extension is a very small part in the seo ranking There are TLDs that are better than others. For instance, the most popular TLD – .com – is much better than .ws, .biz, or .info domains but (all equal) nothing beats an old .edu or .org domain. take a look at www(dot)webconfs(dot)com/15-minute-seo.php
I agree with the above posters, .com is usually the best bet for a new website. You will see better SEO results with .com over most of the other extensions (I've had success with .org and .net on some smaller sites), but you should also consider that .com is by far the most popular in your customer's minds. This may or may not matter depending on the intention of your website, but people will be much more likely to remember your website if it is a .com. So, in addition to being good for SEO, a .com is nearly essential if you plan to brand your website and promote it beyond the search engines.
Domain name extension did not have anything to do with SEO, in as much as you have a good name that is SEO friendly. Moreover, .com domain name extension is a general name for commercial purpose, it sell better and known by almost everyone that is internet.
From all kinds of domain extension, i prefer only the major 3 domains. They are .com .org and .edu and others is not in my head cuz they are not good in SEO eye
