I have a domain which is registered and hosted with company A. I am not happy with the services of this company A and i want to host it to a new company called company B. How can i host the domain with the new company B. Will i have to transfer the domain because i want to host it on company B? How can i work this out? Thanks.
Transferring a domain is very easy. If you are planning to change the host company, then you will have to get the "Transfer Code" or EPP code from the last registrar. Most probably you can get that from your current control panel of your host. Then Unassign the domain in the current host and then start transferring it to another host. There they will ask for the same "Transfer Code" or EPP Code which you have collected from the last host. Not use the "Transfer Code" of domain from Host A on Host B. That's it. Now you can see your domain on new host account. FTP your files from older domain to the new one and then assign the domain to proper directory. All the best!
what i really mean is this, will i have to transfer my domain to a new registrar becuase i want the new registrar to host the domain.
You shouldn't have the same registrar as host. Generally speaking, registrars do not make good hosts - or you'll have problems when you want to host it elsewhere. Transfer the domain to someone like namecheap, moniker, or perhaps godaddy - then pick a good host.
You need to transfer your web site not domain name and you need to change name servers on the domain name and that's all. If you do not know how to transfer web site to the company B just ask for the help about that from the company B and I suppose they will offer that for you with pleasure
