How do stories get front page of digg? Many Diggs? or Many Diggs in a short time? I have a story that is digged 38 times. (3 days old) Is it possible to get on the front page of digg with such a story?
Pretty much anything over 24 hours old won't get on the front page no matter how many diggs it gets. About a 100 diggs in under 2 hours will get you on the front page.
I hope this may help you; http://www.johntp.com/2006/10/03/tips-from-a-top-10-digg-user-on-how-to-get-to-the-frontpage/
I read somewhere that there's an algorithm to take into account digg/time posted, unique IP's, and if diggers used the link before digging.
Yup the more diggs the closer you are to the frontpage. If i posted a digg i prolley would get no diggs
story can get dugg only within 24 hours after being submitted, depends on the total number of diggs and the pace
I believe you're right. I know that the rate of diggs/minute is the main factor, but I also remember hearing that things like if people who dugg the same story were friends on digg, or if they don't have unique IP's it has less influence.
More diggs are required to land up on the front page. i think there are lots of people who are using BLACK HAT tactics to land up on first page.
Digg is pretty much run by syndicates, the same story submitted by a regular person wont make it to the front page, while the syndicate submitted story will. It's not impossible, but with a site that's gamed as hard as Digg is, it's extremely hard to succeed withing joining a Digg ring.
