My main page is an info page and so far I have pointed all my backlinks back to there. But each of my subpages is country specific and I want them all to improve in seach engine results. should I continue linking to main page or try and link to subpages as it seems a lot of effort to get a link just for a subpage amny thanks Gerard
Try to link to sub pages...also use some anchor text links from other pages within your site to those sub pages.
Work on both. Building internal link structure is very important and if it's related, then link all relevant pages together.
You should work on both main page as well as internal pages. Of course 50-80% of your backlinks would be for homepage.
People will give you links to your sub pages if they provide valuable content. Think about sites that are in a sub niche or a larger niche of yours that have resource pages. Contact the site owner and tell them why your country specific page would be valuable to their visitors. It takes a lot of work, but it really pays off in the long run.
Try to get come backlinks for your innerpages so that they will have better chances of getting a good ranking at search engine.
