I have always feared to use credit card for online transaction, or even verifying paypal! so here is the question: how much ammount is at risk if someone get's hold over my credit card info!
    1) the cash limit or credit limit [i exactly don't know what it means:rolleyes:]
    2) my entire bank balance!!
    3) even more than that!

    thanks for your answers!:)

If you notify your bank immediately upon noticing the theft, you are usually limited to a $50 loss. If someone empties your bank account, or charges up the whole card credit limit, it will more than likely take you about a week to recover the stolen funds. Be prepared however to file an affidavidt at the bank, and file a report with your local police department.

Choose a credit card with a restriction on the amount that can be spent- for online stuff.

For the most part you are not at all liable for any unauthorized charges on your card. As long as you report you card being lost or stolen or you immediately report any unauthorized charges you should be completely protected.

Shopping online is a lot safer that it is often made out to be, but you should just use some common sense when shopping. Make sure to shop with sites that have easily accessible contact information, are using a secure connection any time you enter credit card or other secure information, and sites that appear to be reputable and professional. It takes a lot of work to make a successful ecommerce business, so you can be sure that if a site is well established, well ranking, etc, then they have probably been around for a while.

Why don't you use Netsafe? Do you have an account with HDFC bank?
It is very easy to open an acc with HDFC. All you need is one phone call
and the agent takes care of everything else. Of course! HDFC charges
more money than SBI but SBI is crap:)
