Question about creating PDF ebooks from MS Word

You know how you can create a link in Word with anchor text (like this). So how do you keep the link active when you convert your Word ebook to PDF?

My Adobe Acrobat used to convert links in Word correctly so they remained clickable in the created PDF ebook. But it's been a while that it makes them un-clickable, like this.

Any ideas how to convert the links correctly?

    Thanks!

In "basic settings" of the Acrobat there is a menu item "convert into PDF"; there you choose "microsoft office" and actuate the button "settings" - it will offer the choice "..add links to PDF" (or similar - my version is German speaking, so I can only give approximate translations).

Thanks Leo. I did as you said and it seems it should make it work, but the links are still inactive.

Any ideas how to solve this?

    Thanks.

Hmm.. personally I use openoffice to create PDF's. It's extremely simple to convert .doc to .Pdf, and I never have any problems with links. Plus, you can't beat the price.

I didn't know about that. Thanks! I'll download and try it.

I used this at one time to create eBooks with live links, because it was free.
