Question about copywriting

    if i had someone writing about something a Tv show the content is unique and is gonna be posted on my site can i add a copywrite on it so if someone copy/paste it on another site i can shut him down ? how mch would it cost and in what way could i do it ?

    i meant like if i have a friend that is writing articles about something he is creating them himslef and gonna post them on my site . I know that many sites do the copy/paste get the article written and post it on another site is there a way that i get that article safe only i could use if anyone else's uses it i could stop him

    What you are asking about is copyright, not copywrite. This forum is about the art of writting copy (sales copy, promotional materials, etc...). The forum you want is the legal issues forum.

    That being said, in most places you do not need to register a copyright in order to have some protection. Registering it, however, makes it easier and gives you additional protection. Where to register it depends on where you live or want to register it. Most countries will have a copyright office or intellectual property office where this would need to be registered.

    By saving the work in some format you have the copyright for the actual item or file. You can put a little notice at the bottom of the webpage (i.e. (c) John Doe 2007 ) to give notice of the copyright, but you don't have to for it to be binding.
