    Hi Folks,

I need someone to tell me if it is a good idea to have your keywords appear on content netwoks on adwords. What I refering to is to have you keywords appear on sites that are similar to the search terms you have on adwords, which is an option you can have with google adwords.

    Thanks in advance

The only way to tell for sure if it will work for your product/service is to run ads on the content network and measure the results.

If you are just starting out advertising online with AdWords, I would TURN OFF the content network, especially if you are bidding for highly competitive terms. I've experienced too much click fraud with all the PPC companies to trust their partners anymore. Get an idea of your costs and ROI without the content network. Then if you decide to add it later, at least you will know if the additional costs and inevitably lower ROI are worth it.

    Thanks debare,

I have been with adwords for a while and gave it a shot, but like you said, i just didnt trust where are they come from and if they are legit.

I used to get around 100+ content clicks everyday, the problem is I dont know where are they coming from and if they are really legit clicks.

I am less interested in where they are coming from than where they are going. I track coversions and referers and find the content clicks to be as good as the search clicks and they cost less.

People assume there is click fraud with all PPC but do a search in the Adsense forum for "banned for no reason" and you'll see that Google does some swift and permanent action on fraud.

i do use content ads and usually it is 1/3 of all clicks a month. Talking about content I mean both text and graphic ads. Though conversion of these clicks is less than from search ads.

if you are worried about click fraud, the best way to advertise in content network would be to start a site-targeted campaign for some specific sites you trust.

And if your ROI is good, you can expand into more sites.
