Thanks for reading, I had a question about posting links. It's my first time using CJ and I was wondering how touchy they were with HTML. I have a really good understanding of HTML (along with other web based languages) and they say in their link window: "Copy and paste the following HTML code into your web pages. You must include all the above html in your links. Any missing html, including the image source, will prevent the link from tracking properly and result in a loss of commissions. " But here's the code: <a href="http://affiliate.buy.com/gateway.aspx?adid=17662&aid=10387719&pid=3150059&sURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.buy.com%2Fprod%2Fhitachi-deskstar-7k1000-hard-drive-1tb-7200rpm-serial-ata-300-serial%2Fq%2Floc%2F101%2F204817594.html&cjsku=204817594" target="_top"> Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 Hard Drive - 1TB - 7200rpm - Serial ATA/300 - Serial ATA - Internal</a> <img src="http://www.afcyhf.com/image-3150059-10387719" width="1" height="1" border="0"/> Code (markup): Now why do you need the whole code? Can't you do referrals just using the: http://affiliate.buy.com/gateway.aspx?adid=17662&aid=10387719&pid=3150059&sURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.buy.com%2Fprod%2Fhitachi-deskstar-7k1000-hard-drive-1tb-7200rpm-serial-ata-300-serial%2Fq%2Floc%2F101%2F204817594.html&cjsku=204817594 Code (markup): ??? Can anyone verify that just using that link will work?
You can alter CJ links in any way you see fit, so long as you aren't doing anything deceptive. There are a few (very few) CJ vendors who are uptight about this practice, but those who are will have it all spelled out clearly in the terms on their merchant detail page. (eBags is the only one that comes to mind)
Yes, just using that link will work. You won't have impression tracking now, but that's not a big deal.
They already make some links with different style to make it attractive for your visitor. But if you want to do it fast and clean, just put the affiliate link.
