Question About Choosing Article Links

I have a couple really solid 1500 word articles that I am trying to figure out what would be the best to do. My root key phrase is "web design"

Here are my options....What should I choose?

    1) Post the articles on an authority site with back-links (sitepoint.com PR7)

    2) Post the articles on my website and then submit it to article farms with links coming back to me

    3) Write more shorter articles and post them on PR 3-4 article farms.

This is what I would do:
1)Post that article on your own site
2)Write another article, spin it into a lot of versions and then submit to article directories - 1 unique article for each directory

This way, you have over a few hundred links from unique articles linking back to your site.

What I do with very large articles like yours (1500 words) is post it on my own site, and then spin off many shorter versions of it (400-500 words) and use those on other sites with links pointing back to my own website where the 1500 word article is.

My 1500 word article may be about a certain model car, but the shorter article may go more into detail about the engine of said car, or the transmission, etc. The teaser link in the short article would point the reader to the article about the whole car.

It is better to write articles in range of 200 - 300 words submit only to couple of articles directories. It would be good if you go with one article one directory this will boost your rankings and traffic. Let's try this out.
