If i want to change registrars from register to goddady, will the transfer be automatic and without down time. I know when switching hosts, there's a period of time for the DNS changes to propogate but is there an equivalent for changing registrars?

    Thanks!

As long as Register.com doesn't provide your DNS server themselves, and you don't instruct GoDaddy to change the nameservers when they receive the domain, then your website will not suffer any downtime.

ok that's what i thought, i just wanted to make sure. my site is hosted by neither register or godaddy, so the dns should stay the same.

    thanks

I don't like godaddy, site is incredibly slow and tons of unnecessary stuff and promotions. How can anybody like it ?
If your dns is pointing somewhere else, it will stay the same. No need to change anything
