Hey everyone, When you buy an old domain that has some PR value and some backlinks, when you do a redirect on it to another domain, does that other domain get the PR value and backlinks from the purchased domain name? Thanks everyone.
When you buy a domain name it changes owners. Google redoes rank and makes sure site is the same content or topic as before. You can get same page rank after google checks site and redoes it. Redirecting domain name to other site if you use correct method can pass pr on. Make sure the site you redirect to is not listed in google or they could think it is duplicate content.
When you say that Google could think it's duplicate content, Google would index that particular domain as my targeted domain, even though it was redirected correctly. When I say correctly, I am going to use GoDaddy's redirection so that when someone types in domain A, they are automatically pushed over to domain B and the Domain B url is in their Internet browser. Yes, my domain that I want to redirected to is already listed in Google's index.
