Question about Buy-It-Now from snapnames

Back in 2006 I signed up with snapnames to watch a domain name I wanted. Over the years I have checked the whois registry, and the domain has traded hands a couple of times. Two years ago I contacted the then-current owner and they wanted $10K for it.

So today I got an email from snapnames saying that I could "Buy It Now" for $6K. Does that mean they own the domain now? Since I registered with them back in 2006, shouldn't I get to buy it for $59? If I do a search for the domain on their site, it just says "Minimum bid $6K". What does that mean? They have it now and aren't going to let it go for less than six thousand dollars?

    Thanks
    Patricia
