Question about bumping threads

Am I allowed to reply in the auction post I've started by saying who's the current highest bidder and that the auction is still on?

I'm confused. I just got a neg rep for doing so, but I've seen many people (almost all in sell, trade, buy forum) doing that.

You shouldn't bump incessently, but a friendly bump once in a while never hurts :) And as said above, ignore the rep.

You can't bump your own thread.

But if you will get lots of red rep you will be banned. :D
I'm pretty sure they got red rep or infraction also. ;)

It is ok to bump a thread every few days / weeks but not every 10 mins or hour , and when bumping a thread try to reply to somone or add more details ect.

To make it more clearer you can reply to your thread but you cannot bump it. Double posting isn't allowed here. Let other people post first before you will post again to prevent you from trouble. ;)

man I'm afraid to reply in my own thread haha

so is it a fair game to reply in my own thread and make a double post to announce for say "auction ending in 24 hours"?. Or does that also count towards getting infraction? I'm thinking to do that or not.

Also can I bump a week old link trade thread?
