My site's bounce rate, according to google analytic,is 8%.Is it good or bad from seo point of views?what can i do to reduce it?
Just 8% are bouncing? Then what are you worrying about? Although bounce rate is subjective and worried about far too much (there can be positive reasons that someone looks at just one page, for example). Don't worry about bounce rate and focus on conversions.
Depends on to how many visitors you are getting everyday. If your site have less than 100 visitors/day then 8% bounce rate will be a fact, otherwise don't worry about this.
Man you have to reduce the 8% bounce rate ?? I guess lots of people are dying to get even 50 % of it.This bounce rate is great and it seems you have a site well developed.
I think that you understand very well and simply using the platform to shout from the rooftop that you are getting bounce rate of 8 percent. Such kind of bounce rate is possible for only two types of sites : First those sites who have not any external visitors and second top class sites like youtube, cnn, bbc etc.
Sorry to disappoint you pansingh your assumption is not true.I really didnt know that less bounce rate of 8% is good untill some nice people here gave their valuable opinion.I am relativly new to seo and do not know much of the terms used in this industry
It depends on how many visitors and where they come from. A bounce rate that low seems bit wonky to me. What do your analytics tell you about your visitors? How are you converting them?
Importantly, is the OP ignoring their own visits? And those of anyone else who helps to maintain the site.
yes yes, the tragedy of a low bounce rate! Do remember, and this is terrible to say, but if visitors to your site find what they're looking for, they won't click your ads. Depending on what your strategy is, a high-bounce rate is indication of high adsense clicks. The idea will be to reduce that CTR by adding good content so visitors stay on your site and dilute the bouncers clicking on adsense or other ads. This is treading into dark territories regarding SEO, but what ryan_uk says is totally true lol
Sometimes a positive outcome of a visitor being happy and finding what they want is they share it with someone else. Whether via email, IM, SMS, social media, their blog, etc. Bounce rate is worried about a bit too much. Instead, it seems better to worry about: conversions, organic link growth, new traffic, social shares, etc. A visitor finding what they are looking for, a happy visitor, is a key first win. A lot can then happen from there. If they aren't going to browse further, A questionnaire (a short one), or a simple poll or something else to get some further engagement is a good idea at the end of an article (be creative with how you place it). This might divert from affiliate link/ad/other type of conversion (but it would most likely be a small % loss), but it will also be another type of positive interaction. And potentially useful information gained. There are so many metrics to measure, bounce rate is just really a very minor one of the overall picture.
According to analytic,50% of my visitors come from google and rest from directories and link exchange. My conversion is low but i think it is self explanatory.Doesnt low bounce rate means low conversion also?
8% is a really good bounce rate. It means that visitors enter in your site and find what they are looking for so they stay!
