Question about Blogs and Landing Pages

I'm currently promoting a product while using a blog. I'm getting traffic from mostly article marketing and building back links to help in the search engines. I'm making a sale here and there but I've been working on another product by just using a landing page and having higher conversions. I know that its hard to judge different products but I was wondering if I placed a landing page on the same domain name as the blog would that be a good idea.

I am currently placing banners on my site for the product but would it be better to push to the landing page or should I run a separate back link and article campaign just for the landing page to see how it converts?

Will both different article campaigns help each other? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend keeping it separated if they are going to be tested. The reason I say this is because if you run the test and you have no idea what was the main point, then you'll never get anywhere.

You don't need to "test" an already high converting page. If an advertiser is doing it and they are successful, then you can easily "copy" their idea and make it better. Don't try to reinvent the wheel.
