My wife has a website where we implemented a blog. We submitted to social networking sites, and promoted it through other means. In a very short time (less than two weeks) we noticed that traffic started to rise. Traffic now is steadily increasing and we're thrilled. Nothing major, but each month is greater than the previous month. We decided to start another blog on another site of ours. Same strategy. However this time after the initial submissions, our traffic has been zero. Nada. Nothing. I don't get it. I first wonder if the tracking isn't working, but it seems to be ok. I wonder if there is something with the host that I'm using, since I'm using a different hosting account. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? The first website blog that is doing well and increasing in traffic is: http://www.workforcelang.com/blog The second blog with no traffic (if I get clicks from this at least I'll confirm that my tracking is working correctly) is: www.wlstranslations.com/blog Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Social networking is quite tricky. If the main community, for example is musical community and you are marketing health, it won't get any traffic. Languages are also similar.
My blog traffic is practically zero social media. Almost entirely organic search. I think my issue is a problem with my tracking on the WLS site. It still tells me that I've had zero visitors even though I'm pretty sure I've had a few.
I just re-read my post about submitting to social sites... Yeah, I did that, but that's not where my traffic comes from. I'm not focusing on social sites. I really am looking for SEO and organic traffic.
social bookmarking needs to be done very carefully because it is mainly for personal use rather than for using it is as a business point of view. If you over do then there are chances of being blacklisted from social networking list as it is edited by human editors rather than softwares. also it is advisable to check the major source of your traffic on your blogs and website and work on that source....
Thanks. After taking a look at my tracking scripts, I realized that I had an error in my tracking. I was able to fix it. I still need to perform some major SEO on these sites overall, and SN is not a major factor of that. Thanks for all your comments.
