if you can apply for the category, does that mean that there are no editors for it already?

how long does it take to get accepted? I found a category that only has like 8 links that I would like to become editor of.

Also, can existing editors help someone to become an editor at all?

If so I would like help.

You are asking questions best answered at the "official" ODP public forum, Resource Zone. Serving editors are not encouraged to participate here.

Dude its not official and the link they put on dmoz is totally illegal and should be removed. Wonder why people still use the word official for that forum.

Uh, dude - brizzee put the word official in quotes - like "official".

There is nothing totally illegal about them putting a link in the ODP to the RZ, btw.

Getting accepted as an editor can take days or weeks, it took me 24 hours. I suggest you apply for very small category without a lot of links such as your suburbs/towns category as this will give you more chance because they are generally a lot smaller and don't have any/many editors.
