Question about banners

I have a banner creator software that creats banners for me. The software creates it and gives you the code to save. What I need is the address for a banner. How do I put the code into an address. Like http//mysite/bannner.gif ?

Do I need a different software to do this? Or can I upload it into my server some how and then create the link that way?

 

It may be easier to answer your question if you would give an example of the code.

You can either use the code or adjust the code relevant to where you have placed the banner file on your server!

 

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out though. I was trying to save in the wrong type of file extension. I copied the code and placed it in notepad and then uploaded to server. Forgot to change the file ext. to html instead of txt. Duhh. I think I need a break for a couple of days. lol
