Hi, Hostgator offers 1Gbps and 20TB bandwidth per month, and $0.50 per GB of overage after that. That is very straightforward and simple to understand. Netelligent.ca says that they offer 100Mbps Metered bandwidth and they say it approximates about 33TB Bandwidth total per month, and the overage cost is $3.50/Mbps I don't understand why I have 1Gbps port but with 100Mbps bandwidth with Netelligent, and what's this deal with Mbps overage instead of Per GB overage.
Either of those are significant numbers, unless you have a very large volume of traffic or are allowing large downloads, you probably will not get close to those numbers.
Just two different ways of measuring usage and overages. Just convert the Mbps to GB and you'll get a relative cost. 1Mbps is about 325GB/mo. Same goes with their 100Mbps @1Gbps port. They could easily just say 33TB of bandwidth. Must be a Canadian thing...eh?
Hostgator is a wonderful service, while you won't use those numbers, you are investing on a huge service that will ensure a quality result in speed and reliability.
Well, that's simply not true, not for a long time now, ever since Hostgator was bought by EIG (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endurance_International_Group) which is a company well known for their poor support and lots of downtime. If you simply search recent hostgator reviews you'll find that most of them are negative and people are running away from them as fast as they can.
Completely agree with Shagoon. They used to be very good. No way anybody should be recommending them now after the buyout. Go to WHT or another reputable web hosting forum and you will see the terrible reviews.
