Hello, I am trying to increase the number of backlinks for my website. I have one question though. Does a valid "backlink" mean: www.domain.com or can you have www.domain.com/abc/123/page.htm? Will that still count as a backlink? Thanks.
Yep, domain.com means backlink to your main site..whereas /abc/123/page.htm i s backlink to that specific page. Saad
Actually domain.com/content/article.html can be better as it may be more targeted and likely to have targeted links to it.
yes , it's a backlink . dont forget to use title tag with your links . <a href="blabla.html" title="bla bla">kkfkfj</a>
both will be consider as a back link but one main difference is,if u want to get good rank on perticular keyword which is targeted in internal page than you should use that link and if you want to rank your index page than that link should be best.
In order to make backlink highly relevant and skyrocket your rank in Google and other SE you need to find sites with pages that contain your keyword, place your link on that page and type your keyword in anchor text. The page you are linking to should be optimized by your keyword. No matter if you are linking to your homepage or inner page. The key is to find relevant page to link from
www.domain.com or can you have www.domain.com/abc/123/page.htm both would count as back link. But www.domainname.com is a direct linking and www.domain.com/abc/123/page.htm it's deep linking. But overall both would be counted for your domain.
