Hello, This may be a silly question, but I've been wondering it for a while... Some of the sites linking to me have linked at http://siteurl.com where some have linked to http://www.siteurl.com Does this matter? Should I get them all to add the www as this is how google sees my site? or will it be equally as effective just leaving it as it is? Look forward to hearing from you Luke
It does. Unless you are redirecting your non-www to www (or the other way around). If you can, make sure they link to the correct address. In anyway, you should use 301 redirect to fix that.
It doesn't a big matter, just your backlink will break down to two URL To solve this minor problem, just do the 301 redirect
It doesn't matter if the sites that link to you open in any state what really matters is that your site should open in one state only. Preferably the "www" version.
