Question about Articles

Discussion in 'Content Management' started by jcambert, Sep 3, 2006.

Is it more beneficial when writing a good, useful article, to submit to different article directories, or is it more beneficial to add it to your own site, as good keyword rich content?

I ask because likely, doing both, would bring about some duplicate content penalties. Any thoughts?

I would put it on my own site, and make a lesser article for distribution.

You should surely try both, but make the article version that you're going to publish on those article directories a little bit different from your website article.
You can even try an leave some portions out, to make the article readers more curious :)

This sounds like a good idea. This way people who are interested in reading the complete article will come to your site.

What text would you use to attract people to your site? "Read more about bla, bla at bla, bla.com" or something more exciting?

Well, there are many, head over to this site here: AdMoolah News and Views - AdSense Revenue Sharing Sites for a really nice list of them (and complete), but anyways, just try to avoid "Articlewise" one, which is more or less a "scam"; if you want to please read the 12. "Articlewise" is apparently a scam (27.08.2006) "blog-entry" of mine on Senserely.com (also an "ad revenue sharing" type of site), where I described the problem with it in details ...

/EDIT: Oh wait, you didn't ask for "ad revenue sharing" article-sites, sorry !!

It might benefit your name recognition, but IMO it might benifit the sites you submit it to more than benefiting your original 'good keyword content' page located on your site. Your page might end up buried in search results while the ones you submitted to are on top.

you must go for quality article sites not for quanity of article where you'll submit.

imo if you have already good resources to bring traffic thru other means then it would be better to post it on your own site.

There is something I don't understand.

I submit articles for a long time, and it's working fine for me.

Everywhere people talk about duplicate content. That's ok, but what about all the article sites?

They are not penalized at all!

So what did I missed here ? I am confused..

The strategy that I use is to post my article to my site or blog and then wait a couple of weeks....or as long as it takes for Google and the others to index the page and then I submit to a half dozen good article directories. Actually I post to ezinearticles, goarticles, articlealley, articlecity and content-articles.

I believe that if I have created the content I should get the highest ranking for that particular content
