Hi, I hear a lot about article marketing lately and I don't know what it is or how to do this at all really. Could anyone please explain how the process works and if anybody would like explain or point me to a site that has step by step instructions on how I can start in article marketing? If anybody would be willing to help, that would be great. I will also give +rep to any useful posts. :)

Article submission can be very effective if done correctly, you can start by writing an article on your
niche the article should be between 400 - 500 words long. If you do not want to write the
article yourself you can pay someone to write it for you.

After you have written the article you should consider using a service such as submit your article
to distribute the article for you. That's the article submission service that I use they are great
because they give you the opportunity to spin your article and create different versions of it so
you will not get penalized by google for duplicate content.

In each article you will have the ability to add 2 backlinks to your site in the author's box. When you
add the backlinks you will use popular keywords in your anchor text links to help your site to rank better
in the search engine for those keywords. I hope this helps.

That helps a lot, I have a little better understanding of article marketing. So, would I need to rewrite my articles before submitting them or does that article spin tool automatically do that for me?

Or can I use the exact same article that is posted on my blog? That would penalize me in the Google rankings, so I don't think that's right.

    EDIT:
One more thing, I checked out the submityourarticle site, but I don't have $37 to sign up.. Is there any free websites out there?

You will not have to rewrite your article, the tool will give you the opportunity to rewrite
certain sentences to make it unique. Nothing is automated about this service when you
submit the article they will manually submit your article to many different article directories.

You should not use the article on your blog, you should focus on getting fresh content.

I assume the article on your blog has already been indexed by google, if is
you will not fully reap the benefits from submitting that same article.

You have to continually produce new content if you would like to rank
    well in the search engines.

So I would want to write articles and submit them before I post them on my blog? Once I submit them, is it alright to post it on my blog, or would I have to create another variation of the post?

Yes you can also use jet spinner it is free to spin your articles
    http://www.jetsubmitter.com but they will charge
you if you want to submit your articles through their service,
I would not recommend paying for this service because it's not
    very good.

    article marketing...

its basically submitting articles you've written to article directories to build backlinks to your site. The great thing about them is that I am pretty sure you could use it to get some deep links back to your site and increase PR... also people who are searching for information on whatever your article is about and reads it on one of those sites may visit your site and increase your traffic.

You write informative articles and you submit them to article directories that publish them. You get to put your website link in the resource box. The idea is that other webmasters will take your article + resource box and publish it on their site. It's a way of building backlinks. EzineArticles gives pretty good traffic back too.

I have an article marketing journal in the clickbank forum of this site, you can dig it up and see what I was up to.

Google HATES duplicate content points. It makes them nuts.

Keep your blog content more "long tail" driven because you won't be attracting the masses to your blog until
    your site has rank.

Use your most profitable keywords in your articles or (MUCH BETTER YET) in your videos!!!

You guys would not believe the placement we're getting our clients in videos. It's almost sick!
Not just page one of Google...how about the first 8 of 10 positions of the first page of Google.

I feel like a kid in a candy store with this.

Even though you need to have unique contents to avoid being penalized from google, I wouldn't recommend article spinners unless you have time to reread those spinned articles for grammatical and context errors; those article rewrite or spinning softwares change sonly few words or only substitute a word or a phrase witohut "thinking" it'll make sense or not.

And also like other's have said you can embed 2-3 links depending on the requirement by the submission site where you can either have keyword rich links for your own sites or some affiliate sites. Also you may also ahve articles on your own blog (a bit rewritten) so people can also find via your blog.
