Hey guys, i already have 5 sites, soon i will have 6(yay).
And now i want to create an article directory.
How many articles do you think an article directory should have, before authors/marketers start to use it to submit articles?
For the moment i plan on starting with 10 articles per day.

So, what is the minimum of articles in an article directory that you require to start submitting articles.

I too started a new free articles directory, it was my old domain with PR-2, and i started accepting article with instant approval after 20 articles i also suggest to start a articles directory with a good PR domain. I start don't set a limit just accept good articles with no bounds to improve the quantity / number of articles. currently i am getting 50-60 articles daily.

I plan on registering new domain. then going for PR myself.
What do you think about links in articles, should there be 1 or 2? and also where should they be, in the end or middle to end section of the article?
I think that the second is better for traffic?

I am just spinning ideas here, i am gona do the code myself, so for now i only have few stuff i have listed as ideas, give me more :).

If you plan to attract visitors to new article directory - you need to place at least 3 links. It would be reasonable to allow their placement in article's text.

Yeah i was thinking about something like that. Starting with more links. But i was thinking about something like. 1 link per 150 words and 300 words minimum? So the author will have at least 2 links with an article that fills the minimum word count requirements and if the article has like 1500 words, the author will be able to put 10 links. Yeah... when i say that sounds kinda bad. I better make 10 link maximum per article rule.

i think you should follow ezine rule, simplicity is best.

or you can have two links total, one is in the middle of the body and one is in the resource box

yeah i agree with you #tittbit, but only partially. When its about usability then yes, simplicity is important, but when its about services, then, its better to have something more sophisticated.

i have just started www.articleboost.co.uk and just by plugging it here every so often i receive around 5-10 submissions daily. so far up to nearly 70.

it's hard work though - a lot of people dont care about their content, so most need formatting.

Obviously you need some articles in your article directory as nobody would really want to be the first one to submit theyr articles but you do not need massive amount of articles. Concentrate on quality and not on quantity.

To get your article directory off the ground you can sign up to some submission services to get your first articles, you do however still need to monitor what they are sending through and not just auto approve all the content.

You can also use some quality PLR content to help you get your directory going.

    Good luck with it.

Thanks for the information. I am new to article directories, so anything is helping me. I am thinking about making 2 article directories with pre-made software, one that focuses on quality content and one that focuses on quantity(without adult). I think that i can find out more stuff about article directories when actually owning one or two.
