Question about applying for merchants

I think, I'm now starting a stupid thread here...

Have never used CJ. So, here's the question. I added a weight loss website in my new CJ account. Will I be rejected with no words if I apply for a web hosting merchant? Or, in other words, do I have to add a insurance related website to apply for a insurance merchant?

My actual plan is, after the application is accepted by the merchant, then I will start to work on my landing pages or websites. Does this work in CJ, or I just simply have to have a already-done website to get approved?

Thanks for any kind of help!

It depends on the merchant. Some auto-approve. Ones that manually approve will probably reject you if they don't see a related website though. You could email the affiliate manager with your plans and that might help you get approved.

Yeah I kinda did the same thing. My website was about affiliate marketing in general, and I was approved for all kinds of stuff. (rejected for a lot too). I then had some ideas for some of the other people that approved me, and I'm currently building a website to promote one of them.

I would recommend though that you make your website about whatever it is your are trying to promote. This way you will be sure get the advertisers you want.
