Start keyword targetted campaing or site targeted campaign.

Opt in to the content network. You'll see the option when you edit your campaign settings.

Thanks Nokia999.... so with the site targeted compaign, do you actually get to select the theme of the sites in which your ads appear, for example "technology sites"?.

    thanks

Not the theme. You can match sites by keywords (so sort of theme related) or actually by URL.

When you're setting up a CPM campaign AdWords does allow you to type in a "theme" of the sites you would like to advertise on.

Word of advice - check each and every site Google suggests before you check the box to run a CPM campaign on those sites. If you type in "technology sites" you'll be suprised at some of the garbage recomendations Google will suggest.

GuyFromChicago.. thanks. What I also want to know is, when you setup your google content network to appear under "ads by google" under relevent ads, do you get charged per impression or per click?.

I setup my ad and it asked me to set the rate per impression.

    thanks

In Google Adwords, CPM pricing is currently available only with site-targeted ads. Advertisers select the sites where they'd like their ad to appear, and set a max CPM that applies for all those sites. CPM ads are then ranked for display according to their max CPM, competing with other CPM ads and with keyword-targeted cost-per-click (CPC) ads.

CPM means, how much you are willing to pay for each 1000 impressions your ad receives, and it is different from CPC (cost-per-click), where you pay only when your ad receives a click.

    Thanks,
    Samroy!! :)
