Is it safe to submit my website by using AddWeb Website Promoter? Is google going to be happy or frown?
It looks like you received a detailed reply from a Google employee: http://groups.google.com/group/Goog...9248705b31477/3167670ee1698efd?lnk=raot&pli=1 Hi Somer, Welcome to the group. I'm not familiar with the product you mentioned, but there are a couple of things to keep in mind: 1) The same guidelines for Google's indexing of your site apply regardless of which products or services you use. 2) It's against our terms of service to send automated requests to Google. So while it would be fine to use a piece of software on your own site, such as a program which looks for broken links or generates a Sitemap, it would not be okay to use a program which sends automated queries to Google, and you'd want to make sure that it doesn't make your site violate Google's guidelines. If you're simply looking for a way to submit your site, you can first check to see if we've already found you by using a site: search. Simply type site:example.com (replacing example.com with your site) in Google and you can see if we've already found your pages. If your site isn't listed, you can tell Google about the homepage here, and we'll use that as a starting point for finding the rest: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl If you'd like to let us know about all of your pages, consider adding an XML Sitemap: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/topic.py?topic=8467 To avoid any potential "frowns" from Google, start with the webmaster guidelines, paying special attention to the quality guidelines, which mention some specific things to avoid. Whether it's done by you or a service you use, these practices may negatively impact your site's standing in Google's search results.: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35769#3 - Wysz
