Question about "active" users

If I go to the bottom of http://forums.digitalpoint.com/ I see the list of who is online. Was wondering, if someone is banned, why do they still show up on the list?

    Padding the books?

They can still login but they can't post. Maybe they're just retrieving their private messages or changing their profile (maybe removing nsfw avatar).

We don't need to "pad the books".

Or if they were banned in the last 15 minutes, their session hasn't timed out yet. So unless they bother to log out, they will remain on the list for 15 minutes after the ban starts.

You can still login when banned = hence active. I wasn't aware you could still send PMs though...

Damn, you guys must be banning people left and right then as there are always several banned users on the list.

When the PM spammers hit, then yeah, we do a lot of banning. But like Sarah said, sometimes it's just banned members coming back to read threads and such.

I have no Idea what you are talking about. I guess you have never been banned?
My experience during my seven-day Ban:
    1) Can't log out unless I clear cookies.
    2) Can't view threads or any page on the forums.
    3) can't view or send Pm's (Go back to #2)
    4) Only one message keeps flashing! (you have been banned! you have been banned and you have been banned)

When you are banned, and can't logout use:

Replacing _____________ with a random number.

You can not view threads or do anything when you get banned and logged in.
I guess they are banned people who are just logged in, nothing else.

Actually, I have been banned. ;)

Just clear the cookies and you can read threads (except the ones in the underground). Just like you can read threads when you are logged out...

I have seen plenty of banned users show up online during their ban. Must be they are just checking the ban page to see when their ban is going to be up.

Being banned doesn't stop you reading threads (except undreground). Just delete cookies or use a proxy.

Or may be they have been banned a moment back?

I spy on TikTok Every night (GMT +5.5) when he goes on hunts:p

Every thread he goes on, is locked or the OP is banned. This supernatural phenomena lasts for about 10-15 min:cool: Shh....I was a victim

    Thanks and Apologies

I will ask you a question replying to ur question..

What if the banned member is temporary banned?

    -

In vbulletin boards, you can customize this option, active members is only a set date for members, for example u can set 3 months, so that means any member that didnt or dont access the forum for 3 months he will appear as non active but as soon as he logs in he will immediatly be active..
