    Basically that would mean they are the authority site for that subject. Sites are getting these little by little but I have never seen more than 1 in the same search. So thats what leads me to believe its the authority site.

    I also dont think this is done automatically. It maybe done manually but I could be wrong. :)

    Interesting. I hadn't seen that before but Aaron may be right.

    It works for:

    Soundblaster

    Encarta

    Encyclopedia --> yields top result for encyclopedia.com

    New York Times

    and even

    Psychology --> yields psychology.com

    But not for:

    health information

    Psychiatry

    So this led me to hypothesize that maybe it only worked for domain names or company names that were the same as the search term.

    However, I then found that the following does not work:

    mental health, even though this --> mentalhealth.com

    And additionally, the following DOES work:

    mental illness --> yields nami.org

    So, conclusion?

    :confused:

    I wondered about that for a while. One of my sites displays like that.

    Also the title displayed for results is the title that you search for not the title of the page

    perhaps if you rank so long #1 for a term you nail it like that?

    althought digitalpoint doesnt do it its weird.... you would think if anything it would. I dunno. I am going to Mountain View again soon though and I will ask ;)

    I think Google should have told me that though - I'd much rather subscribe to Fiona than to Apple Computers... :eek:

    I can tell you that for my web site, when I search on it in Google, I get something similar.

    Do a search on The Baseball Cube and you will see a couple of my more popular pages popping up underneath for the sports-wired.com domain.

    I did not submit anything special to have this happen. I imagine the "Contact Us" page is a popular page on the site and that is why it is included.
