Hi i have a website that has 6 forums on all covering different subjects like

    computer help forum
    webmaster forum
    graphics forum
    console forum
    gaming forum
    community forum

all these forums link with there registration and login to the main site, the main site has more stuff on

the hole site has been up and running for less than a month it has 37 mebers and the forums are doing well as they have only been fully up and running in the last 2 weeks if that

and there packed with posts well for that amount of time they are lol

but i have been told that it will become a flop as it is a bad idea but i cant see why :(

Note sure why it should not work. The different forums can complement each other and give the site as a whole more content.

I currently have lots of different content sites as subdomains from the main domain (i.e. www.ruleworks.co.uk is the main site and other sites have domains like riskguide.ruleworks.co.uk, dyslexia.ruleworks.co.uk etc.)

    Regards

First, you do have some style issues.

    Example 1: http://www.mkpitstop.co.uk/forums/mk1/viewforum.php?f=4
white on light grey (Last Post)

    Example 2: http://www.mkpitstop.co.uk/forums/mk1/viewtopic.php?t=6
"View previous topic :: View next topic" is impossible to see (Firefox)

Also, how about instead of saying "Logo is being made", you put some temporary text up. The logo is being made for what? What is the name of this site/forum?

The inconsistency between the different subs, if you'd like them to be seen as a whole, means that individuals will have to learn new images for each forum they participate in.

Compare how your site's compare with one another to how mgf's example(s) do.

What style? Pick one for one site that you really like. Then, use colour and a different logo for the others. That approx. follows what mgf is pointing out.

Really, I think you already have some good choices out there - just pick elements from each that you like, make it the 'same' (colour, flow - hard lines v curves - etcetera) and then work on colour changes for the other forums.

From experience, I can't emphasize enough the fact that you have to keep yourself focused on one forum at a time. Make one perfect, and then it will be easy to make the others follow suit.

LOL i am now looking at my forums and getting riped apart of which one to pick for the style as i like most of them

and i was thinking of changing the main site as well to the same style color and that and doing what you said strivinglife with the logos ect etc

but i am also scared of picking a style that know one will like ie. i like black backgrounds but i have been told by alot of people that black is not good :(

what to do what to do

    I think you're right :)

Remember, having different images in your banners is not necessarily a bad thing.

All I can say is that I like it a lot, it's a unique setup. if you need a logo, you can have a contest going on Site point for as low as $50
