Usually, if your site makes $10/month, you sell it for anywhere between 10-16 months of profit. I would go by that rule ;)

Proxies don't usually have the value of 'normal' sites - you might get 5x your monthly revenue. Unless it is established a long time - age has a factor too.

Proxies are too easy to copy on the whole, and reasonably easy to get traffic to.

For proxies, it is also very important WHERE that traffic is coming from. I've seen some where the promotion methods have driven traffic upwards of 80% from China/Iran...which are two bad sources of traffic for proxy sites (in general).

If you are getting 30k unique US/UK visitors per month, then you should have no problem selling.

True, not only the amount, but the origin of traffic is even more important.

The difference on the traffic part is easy: US traffic converts well for ads...hence $ for the proxy owner. Proxy owners only run their sites in hopes of turning a profit. No profit and most proxies would vanish.

China/Iran traffic converts like garbage...leading to drained bandwidth and even the possibility of being smartpriced by G. The most extreme risk is that there has been known to be suspect use of proxies by some users in China...e.g. running email servers through them and sucking out tons of unmonetized bandwidth
