I've a website hosted in US region and performing some SEO. I would like to work on the local listing to the website. I would like to target the various countries/continents around the world such as Europe, Africa(South Africa), South America, Eastern Countries and Asia. I'm a newbie to the local listing. Any help would be appreciated. If I happen to create a local map utilizing the US address, how can I target all the local areas of various places as stated above...?? Will it be possible.....
Where is the physical location of the business? You've answered your own question really - local listings are for local companies. If the business behind your site is registered with a physical address in one country then Google will let you list in the local Places for that country only.
I don't understand...on one hand you say that you want to work on the local listing then on the other you say that you want to target pretty much the whole world!
Thank you Guys for spending some time for my queries. I shall explain you more clearly in this regard For example, I've a website abc.com dealing with shopping products. I've local presence in New york and created a Google map for the same. I've started performing the things to list top for my search queries. Now, my query is, I would like to have optimize my website locally in South Africa. So, I thought of creating another Google map with the South African address. Is this the way I need to promote for all the remaining countries locally. Main aim is that, I need to have local presence where my product has got more demand. I hope a bit clear to you guys now.
To appear in the local search results is needed the local popularity. Here by term popularity I mean online popularity which comes through local submissions and there are lots of ways to online popular in local listing in those specific geographic locations. Try to start find and submit your site in local directories.Start posting on local forums.Create some Press Releases and publish them in to local PR sites. Try to exchange back links from the local websites. To ensure that where you submit your site links are local websites. look up there domain hosting I mean where those sites are hosted, try to finding out websites contains local extension for example for targeting in UK should find site with extension -abc.uk.
To get local listing for your website, submit your business to local business listing sites. Also, you can add your website in local classified ads sites
