I want to allow people to comment on all past posts on my Wordpress site. However, up to thispoint the feature was turned off. Now that it is on though, this only will effect new posts going forward. I know there is a query that will convert all past posts to open for comments without approval. Anyone know it? Thanks
Im not 100% sure what you mean. When you change the settings in the wordpress admin area so that comments do not need to be approved it affects all posts on your blog.
You can do this in PHPMyAdmin: 1. Select "Wordpress" database. 2. Select "wp_comments" in the left-hand menu. 3. Click Search in the menu bar. 4. Select "comment_approved" and press GO. 5. Click Check All, and click the Change icon (little pencil). 7. Change the "comment_approved" field from 0 to 1 to make all comments approved. Or if you would rather use a SQL command: 1. Select "Wordpress" database. 2. Select SQL from menu bar. 3. Enter update wp_comments set comment_approved = 1
