Query Regarding AdRank

Ok you have 1 keyword in it's own AdGroup.

You have been split testing, and Ad A is by far the better of the 2 (A vs B).

Both Ads have history, but now you delete Ad B and create a new Ad called (wait for this ....) Ad C.

Will Ad A continue to be ranked high even though Ad C (with no history) has just been added?

    or

Will Ad A drop slightly because both Ads are taken into consideration when working out the keywords position, when triggered?

    or something else?

The advert will have it's own Quality Score. The keyword will have a Quality Score based on its overall performance. Neither of these will change as a result of adding a new advert, though the keyword will gradually change if the advert performs very well or poorly.

At least, that's my understanding of it...

CM, so the keyword is indirectly effected with adding/removing Ads? As the better the ads are, the better the keyword's QS will become.

And it's the keyword's QS that is used when calculating the position on Google?

On another forum someone is saying that when the keywords Ad Position is calculated, it only takes into account the keyword and the Ads QS which is about to be shown ..

i.e Ad-A could be in position 2 whereas Ad-B could be in position 5.

    Your thoughts on this?

Apologies - misread your previous post. Your keyword QS is affected by your old adverts.

But your advert's position is determined by your keyword and advert QS. So for example, if one advert has the search query in it, and the other doesn't, then the first one will be more relevant, and is likely to have a better QS. As a result, it will appear in a higher position.
