Query Optigold from External Program

I recently wrote a program for my company that allows us to track calls and events in real time. Whenever someone receives a call, that person enters data about the person calling in (name, address, phone, etc.).
Now I have received a new feature request.. my users want to type in only the first and last name and have the rest of the info automatically pulled in from Optigold. So my question is, is it possible for an external program such as mine to run queries on the Opti database?
Also, when we receive a new tech support call, it would be helpful if the problem description (a textbox in my program) could be added to the Technical Support calls for that customer under Opti, so... is it also possible for me to write to the Optigold database from an external program?
FYI - We are using FM 6 and OG 3.2.

Yes, it's possible, but really can't be supported by us (especially the writing to, as that can end up being really nasty). Your best option would be to do it via XML and the web interface (both reads and writes). You're probably want to get a copy of FileMaker Developer as well.

sorry about the delay in replying.. I've been rather busy of late and haven't had time for programming. Anyway, thanks for responding...
So, how do I get my hands on the web interface? I keep hearing people talk about it, but haven't found any instructions on it as of yet.
