Hi I am having Query in Back Links numbers which showing in Google web master tool and Yahoo explorer. When I checked my site back links in Yahoo explorer I got the result of Back links Number is more than 80000. At the same time Google Webmaster tool shows only 24264 . There is more difference in both results. Which result I can consider and which is more reliable to check the back link result. And Last Question Why these much difference showing in both Results? Anybody can give me the detailed Clarification Please By Ashok
google does not gives the information about sites correctly. because it does not want us to use the informations for spam. if you want to know the backlinks of your site, try to use google webmaster tools or check the backlinks on yahoo or altavista.

Google and yahoo are two different search engines and they index sites differently. It's perfectly possible that either of them has indexed more pages containing link to your website. A 'huge' difference is not unusual.
Yahoo counts all backlinks regardless of PR and other parameters. As long as the backlink is active, then you have a count On the other hand Google only counts quality and of PR backlinks
So does that mean that the external links shown in google webmaster tools are the backlinks to my site? Is that what google is considering as backlinks to my site?
I have the same issue with my website. I have backlinks from a pr3 website but google does not shows it.
