A Muslim cleric has criticised Queen Elizabeth for being silent towards oppression. The Queen has sent a rude letter to the cleric. The cleric has replied that The Queen's letter was junk mail and should be placed in the bin.

Also in another event, the spokesperson of his website has sent a video on You Tube asking the Queen not to waste time of Australians, and let Australia be Republic.

This is expected, you need to go through the proper authorities, the Queen act correctly and answered diplomatically.

    I didn't mean that.
Okay, I am Indian. In Indian history, British are shown in poor light. they tortured us, general Dyer is considered as an abuse here, fine.
Looking at it that way, yeah, I sort of expected the British to act that way,

He as a commoner send a letter to any monarchs that are still in existence, he will get the same sort of treatment, or even no reply at all. If there is any seriously in getting an issue settled, he needs to go through the proper channels, engaged the proper authorities and not send such a direct letter to a ceremonial head of state.

How can you expect someone of international popularity to have enough hours in the day to write responses to the countless emails and letters they receive? Would you expect George Bush or Bill Gates to respond personally? No? So why do you need to bring someone's nationality into the issue, it's discrimination.

No, the fact that I haven't heard of them is probably the reason why they can reply to every single correspondence they receive. This doesn't mean anything though, I can list 100 companies which you've never heard of and would reply, but if I sent an email to Brad Pitt, George Bush, Bill Gates, David Beckham and the Queen of England - the chances of me getting a personal response is slim to none.

It has nothing to do with British history so stop being discriminatory.

No one has expected the Queen to reply herself. The private secretary or any other person on her behalf can reply, that's fine. The point is about "the rude reply". Even your boss doesn't write such a letter for you, not even a president. I believe if any U.S. president or someone on his behalf writes a letter to any citizen, will be a polite letter. Maybe the Queen tried to humiliated the Muslims but the result has been turned back against the Queen when the cleric has sent such a reply, and it has been posted on website. Probably the Buckingham Palace didn't think it will have such a result. I've seen many websites and many Muslims and non-Muslims have been talking about this incident. This is embarrassing event for Buckingham Palace. I think they should get to know this complicated cleric and his tactics more, then they write the rude letter in a way he is unable to take advantage of it.
Buckingham Palace has given a good excuse to this cleric to take advantage of that rude letter and to damage the image of the Queen.
This is the first time I see a Muslim has been able to damage the Queen. British politicians should do something about it.

Eh? Show me where it's rude? It thanks the Cleric, it then says that the office has passed the letter onto the Australian Governor General who can deal with it. It then apologies for any delay in response. It's a very polite letter, you don't know what you're talking about mate.

Also, what has the fact that he's a muslim got to do with anything? I don't see what the personal beliefs of the person who wrote the letter has to do with anything here.

Get a clue. That letter was not rude. Please QUOTE ANY PASSAGE YOU FEEL IS RUDE for all of us to see.

This "Sheik" must be some little thin-skinned Sheik if this type of standard letter has him all upset and bitching about it. He must be a real piece of work. This is the biggest nothing I have seen someone complaining about. I guess you have to get yourself fired up somehow.

I can't believe the Sheik just let the Queen shame him like this. It is an outrage, he must restore his honor.

I feel that it is a normal reply, official and straight to the point. This is what you get when you write to those at the highest level that is not in charge of what you are talking about. The Queen is polite enough to give a reply, most don't even bother.
