Yes but that takes a lot of work. Quite frankly I think about.com is a bit too big! Adsense wise they may fair out better if they split their categories into seperate sites with different layouts (so people don't get ad blinded). Frequent repeat visitors don't tend to click on their ads too often. I was also talking about quality / quantity of sites.. but content matters too of course.
I tend to disagree with most answers on this thread, Sure quality and uniqueness are what all websites need, without it your google placement and repeat attraction to visitors will be poor. But to get a great site that no one else has produced, requires 1. a brilliant idea 2. huge amount of time to create and support 3. if it really is a great quality website, for sure as sh*t it will be cloned, which will reduce your "quality" I think if you kick off 50-200 different websites and focus on content with some quality, you will win out. 1 paying click a day on each of lets say 200 sites, is easy to achieve and will give you 200 paying clicks a day 200 paying clicks on 1 quality website is far harder to achieve. Just my 2penny's worth anyway
That's my thoughts, still I try to combine the two. But looking at the poll most people go for quality over quantity. Still the idea of having lots of sites and just some clicks a day make your sites earn very well is very attracting. I'm very curious if someone tested it out and have lots of sites and makes good money with it?!
Lots of people have. Depends on how smart your technique is. Trust me, there are some creative people out there.
I voted quality. If you have one site with quality and a bunch of others with quantity, you will most likely get more money from the one site, as noted above.
With quantity you can never keep things up to date. You will always spend time moving back and forth. The best way to do it is build a great site, and gain high traffic. Once this has been done you can expand, and transfer your traffic to another site. This is called cross promotion. This is a great way to do it, but you want to make sure to do it slowly.
Hmm maybe i should have made it anonymous. But unfortunately I cannot edit the poll anymore so you can't vote anonymous, but still...what's the problem. I don't think the result would be very different then.
Well, my vote goes out to Quality as well, however your example is a bit funny. If I own a delivery service I can get more done with 20 Yugo vs. 1 Rolls Royce. Thats why the Pizza guy doesn't show up in a Rolls Royce. I believe having one quality site is a lot easier to maintain, to get links to and to reap the benefits of links to other pages of that site (Authority).
I go for Quality any day. I'd much rather have to deal with a small number of sites earning a lot than hundreds of sites that earn measly amounts.
