I just want to make sure quality scores are given to individual keywords. That one keyword(bad apple) in a compaign shouldn't affect the quality score of another keyword that is doing well. Also if one campaign in the account has very very low CTR, it shouldn't affect the other campaigns that have good CTR? I remember reading about this somewhere, and that keywords are the only things that get quality score(not compaign or ad group) I just want to make sure becuase I activated a campaign that did very poorly and the have since stopped, but it seems that all my other campaigns that were doing well have not been doing so well anymore.
Content only campaigns are great if your main objective is branding. You can get your ad to show up in many other sites which improves your visibilty thus enhancing your brand. Also, these campaigns are much cheaper to run as compared to search campaigns.
The experience has been good, you learn new things everyday. Search marketing is coming up in a big way. Its quite enjoyable to be a part of this Industry.
The quality score is calculated in many different ways, such as the CTR of the keyword, the relevance of the ad, the quality and relevance of the landing page etc...
thanks for the replies everyone. I was just wondering if one bad campaign in the accounts the other campaigns. I am aware the quality score is determined with CTR, ad relevance(to keyword), landing page quality and etc. 95% of my keywords have a min of 10 cents or less and probably half of that is 6 cents or less, so everything else aside, the keywords should have decent quality scores
It's actually quite common for campaigns to have the content network convert better, and have lower CPA's than the search network. I would say it's not the rule, but it's definitely common, at least in my experience.
The inability to track where the adsense ads are posted is what really turns me off about content ads. The content clicks I get are typically just 1 pageview, so I don't know if people just click it by accident. I've lowered the bids on my content to very low, so they get really high positions and people who really click on them are probably more interested if they see it that far.
