The "Google Slap" is to stop marketers from going the lazy route of direct linking campaigns with affiliate programs. They prefer legitimate and original sites and here is a short list of things you can do that are guaranteed to improve the quality score for your site. 1) Install a wordpress blog on your domain. Yes that means go to wordpress[dot]org and download the blog, unzip it, follow the 5 minute installation instructions, and have a blog on your site. I don't mean link to a free blog from your site, you need to have one of your own. Take a few minutes to write some content every few days. 2) Get some more incoming links to your site. You can do this quickly by commenting on other blogs, submitting an article, or press releases, to name a few. 3) Add a privacy policy page. You can generate a basic one for free at: enbs[dot]com/privacy-policy-generator[dot]php 4) Create a sitemap. You can have one generated for you for free at xml-sitemaps[dot]com. Get it in an XML flie and upload it to your server. Then go tell Google where it is in Google's webmaster tools. 5) Add a Contact Us page. If you're afraid to put your real contact information, make something up. But have the page that says contact us because that makes your website look legit. Just a few tid bits to get you started on the right track
This is a good if you have one or two sites. Don't work if you have a family and kids and two jobs in the family + 100 sites. So, some things are practical and some are not. -- Writing blog content is not the same as managing a directory. Writing content needs lot of talent and the guys who can do it, they deserve good positions in SE's That is why there are 100000... of directories and the Directory business at its current shape.
Very well said, totally agree. To develop a quality/niche blog is just not easy. Although it's easy to have a blog, it's not easy to maintain it. So be wise to chose and get a start. Of course if you have a topic that you can write on and on and you will not get bored to write on it with new concepts, ideas then soon you will become famous in blogger's community. It's just that easy.
Better to have 1 good site than loads of crap ones I agree with this 100% I agree with this at least 250%
How hard is it to install a blog on my site. I don't want it on my main site(or a link to it) but something that will look like this www.MYSITE/blog Possible? How hard?
