quality score

So, there is something im missing about the quality score here. I started a campaign yesterday, it was effective. Google bot came to my site only once when i first started the campaign. I got 1% ctr and got some clicks, quality score was 7. Today its 2, and they did not crawl my site at all. I have no Google pixels so they dont know my on page performance.

The only data they have is, my impressions and CTR. Is 1% that bad to slap from 7 to 2 ? And since google ad bot is not coming to the site, i assume there is nothing i do on-page to increase quality score.

With a QS of 2, I'd check the relevancy of your keywords. Hover on the speech bubble next to the keyword. I'm sure the bot visited your site, it usually doesn't take too long.

It visited once. But decreased the score 1 day after visiting. Just wierd.

If you are running a campaign on search network, landing page has very little impact on QS. As suggested previously, you should check the the info on keywords, that will show if you have any problems.

This is 100% wrong. Why do you think this? Your landing page is very important. In a sense that you should not even be using a landing page. If you're an affiliate with a landing page and a bunch of outbound links to affiliate offeres your QS will be slapped because google considers that a bridge page. Direct link instead of using a landing page.

Read about QS calculation difference for search and content before writing: http://adwords.google.com/support/aw/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=10215

"Furthermore, following our site guidelines will help improve your landing page quality score. As a component of your keywords' overall Quality Scores, a high landing page quality score can affect your AdWords account in three ways:

    Decrease your keywords' cost-per-clicks (CPCs)
Increase your keyword-targeted ads' position on the Content Network
Improve the chances that your ads will win a position on your targeted placements"

If you have a shitty landing page or website. Google will "Slap" your keyword QS. because the only way to hurt your adwords campaigns but not shut down your entire site is by slapping you in the QS department

Well, 1% CTR is bad in googles eyes, they want about a 3 and above QS. They want to make as much money as possible.

Make sure you repeat keywords in your ad and on your landing page.

Stop thinking in absolute terms. That's what your QS is for. You can have a 1% CTR in the top positions and still have a high QS. You can have a 5% CTR in some industries and have an average or low QS.

Google wants to make money by forcing you to increase your quality. That's the reason behind QS. Otherwise, they'd just make it a straight bidding auction. They'd probably make more money at the expense of quality and less people would use Google. Take two ads, one has CTR of 5% and pays $0.25. The other 2% and pays $0.50 because of lower QS (quality). The first nets Google $1.25 per 100 impressions, the second $1.00 per 100 impressions.

Best is to click the Columns link and show the QS column for each keyword.
