Funny that no one has posted about this yet, since it is the latest buzz in the webmaster world http://adwords.blogspot.com/
Google sent me a power point presentation on the QS update. Some things to note: – Minimum bids may increase for low quality keywords that have received few clicks and therefore have a low CTR on Google.com – Note: This update does not change our landing page quality evaluation Two things to note, it seems that the way Google updates their landing page evaluation has not changed, and this update is mainly concerned with ads that to not have a good CTR on the Google network. Hopefully this is the extent of this major update. Stay tuned.
This is an update to how the QS is detremined, not a new feature. The new feature was realeased last week (being able to view your QS).
Does anyone know the range? All of mine are Great and OK, is there just Bad or Poor or something, then OK, then Great?
I'm not sure, but looks like this new update introduces a quality score component into your ads or ad Groups (that in the past was only on keyword Level) if this is true you'll need to consider moving/deleting poor performing keyword while optimizing from now or these low QS keyword will affect your entire account. But I'm not sure - We do need to clarify this point.
I've seen and been on a few posts about this. Loads of my keyword min CPCs jumped to £5.00 a week or so ago but then I changed my landing page and everything seems ok again.
