Quality Score Is Preventing Legitimate Business

I just set up a Yahoo! Store and put a new skin on it. I am partnered with a local florist and intend to sell orchids online. Here is the website:
    http://www.freshorchid.com

I have a Yahoo! Seach Marketing campaign going, but I can't find any keywords at AdWords for any of my landing pages that don't get punished by the Quality Score.

Whether I try this landing page:
    http://www.freshorchid.com/lavender-orchids-10-ste10.html

    Or, this landing page:
    http://www.freshorchid.com

    With any of these keywords:
    dendrobium orchids
    fresh flowers
    lavender orchid
    lavender orchids
    orchid flower arrangements
    buy orchid online
    orchid delivered
    send orchid bouquet
    ordering orchid
    orchid to deliver
    orchid bouquet
    buy orchid
    buy orchids
    orchid arrangements
    orchid bouquets
    orchid sale
    orchids for sale
    wholesale orchids
    cheap orchids
    fresh orchids
    fresh orchid
    online orchid
    orchid florist
    orchid gift
    orchid gifts
    orchids delivery
    orchid delivery
    orchids online
    order orchids
    send orchid
    send orchids

I tried keywords that they suggested with their keyword tool. Still, I get the same response:

    Inactive for search
Increase quality or bid $5.00 - $10.00 to activate

I've tried creating more ad groups, a new campaign and changing a bunch of parameters. I'm starting to wonder if it happened because I'm using a Yahoo! Store! I tested that theory by creating a new campaign using the same ad copy and the same keywords, only using a different website (not a Yahoo! Store) which is related to cell phones (it has nothing to do with flowers or orchids). Guess what! It let me use all the keywords mentioned above without any quality score punishment. Next, I tried setting up an identical campaign, only using links to some other Yahoo! Store and it let that campaign proceed as well without Quality Score punishment.

I don't really care to build a custom website; I just want to use my Yahoo! Store to sell orchids. Yahoo! Search Marketing is nice to be able to use, but it would be nice to have AdWords working as well. Contacting Google support didn't fix my issue. They tell me that they can't manually approve keywords and give me some basic steps to refine my keywords, optimize my campaign, etc. If a cell phone related site gets no quality score punishment for orchid ads, yet a landing page full of information about orchids gets punished so that no keywords related to orchids go unpunished, there is something wrong under the hood.

I guess I'm a little bit impressed with their integrity. They want to eliminate ad spam so much, that they have tweaked their alg. to the point where they lose money on legitimate business to prevent illegitimate advertising.

Anyone have any ideas how I can fix this situation fast without that much effort on my part?

    Hi,

It happened to me as well. the only solution i could find is opening a new adwords account. i would suggest asking for their support team approval first, since this is against their TOS (unless they approve it).

That's not such a bad idea. I could perhaps get my partner to open an account... I might be able to try a few more things before I come to that...

    Thanks!

If you don't know what the problem is, what do you achieve by opening another account? You don't know if you'll be making the same 'mistake' over again in a new account.

No need for a new account, just add more beef to the site and try again.

Well, when the account is fu**ed up, you can do all the right things and still get the "slap".
when I opened the new account i kept doing the same exact things and got Great QS off the bet - the "hard part" is keeping it. make sure you keep a decent CTR (at least 2%) and that the landing pages are as relevant as possible to the search phrases you bid on.

A new account will not accomplish anything other than get the site live for about 24 - 48 hours. The url is slapped, not the account. Google does not slap accounts.

You have to do one of 2

    1. Increase landing page quality

    2. Use a different URL

I recommend using a new url plus putting together s a better landing page if you want fast results.

Otherwise, if you want to preserve the URL, try a new landing page until it gets unslapped.
