Quality or Quantity in Blogging?

Is it better to post mediocre stuff every day and really good stuff about 3 times a week or to post only the good stuff and work hard on it? Which technique produces better traffic? Most of the top bloggers post daily from what I see.

Your better off posting one good post per week than 7 low quality posts. Find some good topics and do alot of keyword research for topic. You should do fine with one post a week.

How many mediocre blogs do you bother to read and go back to, just in case they post the occasional good stuff?

Always go for quality with your content regardless of what type of website it is.

of course you should only post "the good stuff". there is too much mediocre stuff out there to compete with. what you need to do is make sure that your blog is optimized so the content you DO right gets the attention it deserves.

make sure you are addressing duplicate content, all your meta tags correctly written, valid xhtml, and more.

And, not to pump up my own ebook here, but this is covered with a whole bunch of other stuff in Wordpress SEO Blueprint. Check it out!

I always try to post good stuff, but I don't always have time or a good topic. It's the same thing with most bloggers. John Chow has his posts about lunches with associates or visiting expensive houses, not to mention paid reviews, all of which provide are subpar in comparrison to the best of his posts.

Definitely quality over quantity when it comes to content.

Good content is how we create value for our visitors.

When it comes to blogs, it's better to keep good content posted on your site rather than some good and poor as people will get to know your site and will want to use it to keep updated with the good information.

Quality is far more important than quantity especially when you are just starting out :)
