    Do link exchanges. Buy permanent links on relevant sites.. All the usual solutions. :)

    Are you looking for ideas for doing this for free or do you have a budget?

    Here are step by step approach.

    1) First establish your niche information .. and collect lot niche keywords using this tool.

    2) Know who are you niche keyword competitors and find their strength info using this tool.

    3) Now analyze your top competitor's inbound links and find from where they are getting backlinks and what are their anchors using this tool.

    Now you would have info who to ask and what to ask ;)

    I'd use free directory submissions, article submissions, forum postings, reciprocal links, and three way links.

    You can hire someone to do directory submission for you.The submission process is tedious and you would use the time for more useful jobs like managing the sites.

    Myspace sites seem to get real traffic and real clicks. I think Adbrite is always a good way to advertise
