Of course to optimize for a keyword, one would want that keyword in the anchor text of page linking to your page. But some writers have written that there are other factors to consider on the page that links to you. Most do not say what these are. The only one I can think of is the keyword elsewhere on the linking page, say in the title. Of course exclude pagerank and similar technology. I might try a test. But it is hard to rule out other things could influence rankings when one tests. Anyone else tried a test? I suppose this is almost a trivial pursuit. It is hard enough to get backlinks without the further criteria of having the keyword elsewhere on the page.
The title of the page and other keywords in the page is one of the things that helps google know the link is coming from an unrelated or related website. Although it's quite hard to get good links when you consider such criteria tell you what...article directories or publishing your articles in related sites are a great way to do it. Goodluck with your test
Hi there, Yah that’s right, but being on SE's is always challenge, it’s just like testing and proving. We need sometimes to do some test this is part of us. Something’s important to consider 1.) Quality link is always a good option – But not that easy to find 2.) Higher PR than your site 3.) Great Anchor text for your site’s keyword - how you manage your anchor text 4.) Great Partnership 5.) Bump site’s link popularity and more…. Hope this might help.
