    Hello,

I'm manager of a small webdesign company and i would like to outsource some of my projects to some freelancers in low wage countries.

It's a hard decision to make because I don't have any experience with this. Therefore I would like to hear some meanings about this.

What are good countries / companies ? I heard many things about India, the Philippines,... And from what price can you get a decent website ?

If you want quality work, there are no such things as low wage countries. Internet is global, borders don't anything. If you want slaves working for you for 5 dollars a day you might find them here, but not proper coders.

Hmm, craigslist is always a good start for finding some outsourcing freelancers. Also you can look to an outsourcing firm such as www.indianindex.com -- I'm not sure how much they charge but its worth a shot. As far as "If you want quality work, there are no such things as low wage countries," I don't find that very accurate. There are tons of Indian/Philippine designers/coders that are much more technically sound than most of us on here, and do in fact charge a lot less than those working out of the US or other major business centers.

However, with that being said, I would start off local. Post in your city's craigslist and you will get responses from both local freelancers, as well as foreign freelancers looking for jobs over the internet. You can also look at www.99designs.com which is a "competition" style freelancing--you post a brief of what you need done, a reward/price, and designers interested will submit work to you. If neither of those suit you well, google is your friend. I'm sure you could dig deeply and find freelancing designers in other countries.

@Brecht07 =======> YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

    - if you outsource out of your country: Learn the language
    - Outsourcing for the sole sake of saving $$$ for cheap labor will come back to bite you, you will fail miserably!
    - Language barriers and cultural differences will hurt your business due to misunderstandings and language barriers.

Quality Work brings in Quality clients that have the funds to pay for what you can deliver.
