Everywhere I go I hear the phrase "You need to get quality backlinks", but what is classed as a "quality backlink"? Is blog commenting classed as "quality backlinking" if they are do-follow blogs? Thanks
A link is considered as quality, if it comes from a relevant site/page, if the site/page has no link from link farm, if the site/page doesn't have too much outbound links, if the site/page has good content which helps visitor get the information they need. But the blogs should not just be dofollow. They should be also relevant to your site.
quality backlink = from high PR, don't have nofollow tag , related page, have high chance to be clicked (so the visitor will visit your site) that is short answer that explain everything
Quality backlinks = Relevancy, Do-follow, Good PR, Anchor Text with Types of linking FORUM, Blog commenting, Directories, Guest posts, Press release , Article Submission, Bookmarking, Social Media (Twitter, Facebook).
If you are choosing blog which are very relavant to the site which you want to comment on and if they are good at PR with giving do follow links in recent comments or top commentators then they are really quality links.
Organic back-links are the most highly prized. Especially those which comprise a mixture of relevancy and PR anchor links from different geographical locations. The ability to achieve these types of links in a very short period has been around for a long time, but exclusive to only a few. At present there are roughly only 20,000 domains among billions that can naturally accomplish this feat. They are more commonly know as Google News Sites (or partners) a select few who wield the power that many can only dream about.
Links from high PR sites Links from good neighborhood Links from related sites Links from distinct sites
Links coming from relevant and high trafficked page which itself has very less outgoing links... can be classified as quality backlinks. Regards, RightMan
